A quick note on Impression preferences: There is NO sexuality or gender based Impression. Some dragons do have a preference, but it is by no means the rule. When it comes to Non-Binary Candidates, I will usually go by the pronoun you use in your posting as well as your Candidates form when determining Impressions. Any Non-binary that chooses to use both, or neither pronoun has equal chance to Impress to any dragon. For example, a Genderqueer who uses "it" for a pronoun does have the chance to Impress a queen or king, if they wanted to.
A Note on Personalities: The personality traits listed for each color are the traditional stereotypes for the color. It is entirely possible to have a dragon with a completely different personality than their stereotype, so for example, a calm Sakura, a possessive Kohaku, or a boisterious Kin.
-Midori-
Female
45-55 feet
Impresses: Females
The Midori dragons are the highest rank of all the colors. They are also the largest by far, though some Aoi can rival smaller Midori. Midori come in any shade of green, even tinting towards yellow or teal at times. Midori are slow to trust and usually end up being rather quiet. Midori can sometimes seem unsure about themselves, and usually choose to not exert their control over other dragons. They only impress to girls, though it is rumored that before the Upheaval, Midori dragons Impressed boys. Midoris fly 1-2 times a year and have a 100% chance to clutch with each flight, laying up to 30 eggs.
-Shiroi-
Female
47-52 ft
Impresses: Females
Shiroi dragons are the second highest dragon, and second Queen color. Shiroi's are very similar to the Whites of old, with a few key differences. Size, obviously, but also the fact that they are definitely female. Their hide is always a white base, but if you look closely, they have hints of various other colors in splotches all over. Shiroi only Impress females. Shiroi are very regal, with tendencies to be arrogant or bossy to other dragons. They are a Queen and they know it. Unlike the more gentle Midori, a Shiroi will no hesitate to impose their will if another dragon is disagreeing with them. Shiroi rise 2-3 times a turn and have a 100% chance to clutch with each flight, laying up to 25 eggs.
-Aoi-
Male
40-50 feet
Impresses: Males
Aoi are the largest of the male dragons, with the exception of the rare gender mutated male. These dragons come in any shade of blue, sometimes with tints of green or purple. Aoi are usually cheery and playful, though they do know when it is time to play or when it is time to be serious. It is rare to see an Aoi that is sad or down. Aoi always Impress to boys, picking boys that are like themselves, or those that need to be less serious. They are usually the only ones able to catch Shiroi and Midori without much issue, though they do chase the smaller dragons too.
-Ichigo-
Male
37-42 feet
Impresses: Usually Male, but will rarely Cross-Impress
Ichigo are the second biggest male under Aoi. They come in any shade of red. They are usually quite mischievous, although they only mean it in good fun, and are never malicious about their tricks. They tend to Impress boys who are good leaders, or who have a good sense of justice, though occasionally these tricksters will Impress someone off the wall. They can chase any female, including Queens, but usually only catch the smaller Shiroi.
-Gin-
Female
37-42 feet
Impresses: Usually Female, but will Cross-Impress
Gin are the largest non-queen females. Gin are a pretty and lithe dragoness, coming in shades of nearly white to dark pewter, with a metallic shimmer like the Dou and Kin have. They tend to be motherly to all, creature and human alike. A naturally gentle beast, they are the least likely to end up in fights with other dragons or riders, preferring to back down rather than to challenge. They usually Impress females, but its not uncommon for them to cross-Impress. Gin rise 3-4 times a year. Due to chewing though, Gin have a roughly 50% chance to clutch with each flight. If they Clutch, it would be up to 20 eggs
-Kohaku-
Male
35-40 feet
Impresses: Usually Male, but will Cross-Impress
Kohaku dragons sit just below Gins. Kohaku can be anywhere from pale peach to dark burnt orange, close to brown. They are tough and have a great fortitude, making them most often the workhorse of the weyr. They are strong and steady, and once they set their mind to a task, they go until it's finished. Kohaku usually prefer males, but do cross-Impress. They prefer riders that are go-getters and know how to win over a crowd. They will chase any color, regardless of size.
-Murasaki-
Female
32-37 feet
Impresses: Usually Female, but will Cross-Impress
Murasaki dragons are the middle rank females. They can be any shade of purple. Murasaki are like large lions. They are usually very brave and somewhat possessive. They won't back down from a challenge, as well as being known for taking unnecessary risks. Murasaki usually prefer female riders who are tomboyish, as well as brave and strong hearted types. They rise 3-4 times a turn. Like the Gin, they have a 50% chance to clutch with each flight, and can clutch up to 15 eggs.
-Chairo-
Male
30-40 feet
Impresses: No Preference
Chairo dragons are about right in the middle of dragons in regards to size. They come in various shades of brown. Chairo have a slight preference for Impressing males, but will Impress females without much thought. They usually like to pick riders who are calm and steady, or who have good organization or people skills. They may occasionally mate with the queen, though usually only a Queen on her Maiden flight, unless the rider is particularly attached to the Chairorider. Other than that, they can attempt to chase any female.
-Sakura-
Female
27-32 feet
Impresses: Female
Sakura are smaller females, ranging from near white to hot pink to dark pink. Sakura's are by and far the most random of all dragons, on an emotional level. They are very moody and can switch from being happy to being sad or angry without much provacation. They also tend to have some sort of quirk about them, like only eating fish, or collecting shiny stones. They never cross-Impress, and prefer rash or overly emotional girls. Sakuras Rise 4-5 times a year, have a roughly 30% chance to clutch with each flight and if they clutch, lay up to 12 eggs.
-Kuroi-
Male
24-30 feet
Impresses: Usually Females, but occasionally males
Kuroi are the second smallest males. Coloring can be dark grey to solid black. Kuroi dragons are extremely loving and affectionate. They are also happiest when doing some sort of work. They have a strong preference for Cross-Impressing, though they will Impress males without much thought. Kuroi usually Impress people who are dutiful and affectionate. Due to their size, they are usually only able to catch Low-rank females. Of all dragons, Kuroi are the most likely to chase one dragon, and remain loyal to that one dragon for the rest of their days.
-Dou-
Male
22-28 feet
Impresses: Slight preference for males, but will Impress both
As the only male with a metallic tone to their hide, they see this as making them prettiest of all dragons. Color wise, they are metallic bronze in tone of various shades. They are a VERY social dragon, loving to talk to anyone who will listen. They tend to over exaggerate, especially when telling tales of their exploits. They are boasting types who like to make it seem that they are better than they actually are. Despite being the smallest male, Dou can come across as quite arrogant, aspiring to greater ranks than they really should. Dou dragons usually prefer to Impress social butterflies, as well as people with good wisdom or wit.
-Kin-
Female
18-24 feet
Impresses: Slight preference for females, but will Impress both
Kin are the smallest of all dragonkind, though it is rumored that before the Upheaval, Kin were the complete opposite. Kin come in shades of gold to yellow, and are one of the dragons that has a natural metallic tint to their hide. Unlike the Dou however, they don't intentionally bring attention to themselves because of it. While they are quiet, they have a great intelligence, possibly the most intelligent of all the dragons. Some come across as meek and humble, but that is simply because Kin usually remain quiet unless asked a direct question, not wanting to upset someone by possibly interrupting them. They have a very slight preference for females, and they usually like Impressing people like them. They rise 4-5 times a turn, and due to chewing Firestone, they are only somewhat fertile, having a roughly 25% chance of clutching with each flight and laying a clutch of up to 10 eggs. Some Kin like to try to be cunning and avoid chewing Firestone, with the intention of laying a clutch of their own.
