Overall Description: Skylar is on the average size for a man of his age standing at 5 feet 11 inches tall; his face is square-shaped with a strong jaw-line and high-cheekbones, he has almond-shaped eyes that are deep blue in color that someone might consider steel-blue, his eyebrows are slightly arching. His nose is rather large in size and looks like it's been broken at least once. He has a pair of nice sized full lips. He keeps himself fit by exercising daily and working with Belarth.

He has short black hair that he keeps cropped neatly to his head, but sometimes it can be very messy especially when he removes his riding helmet. His skin is slightly tanned, and as to his riding clothing he usually wears Harper Blue clothing, but sometimes he wears Healer Green riding clothing.

Overall Description: Skylar has a strong bond with his Dragon Belarth, and is very close with Akadeanna and Aleth, but he is fiercely protective over them. When it comes to children he loves them, and he's very gentle and caring around children and around animals; when he see's another person hurting anyone whether woman, child, or animal he will protect them in any way he can. When Akadeanna and Aleth go off on their own he worries about them and does his best to find the pair.

He enjoys swimming with Belarth and even more enjoys when he can join Akadeanna swimming and when Aleth invites Belarth to join them swimming as well. He loves to sing though and sometimes is found fiddling with musical instruments.

Background: Skylar was born as an only child, his parents had wanted more children besides Skylar, however due to complications with his birth, his mother was no longer able to bear any children after him. He was raised between the Healer Wing of Harper Hall with his mother and the Harper area with his father. When he was 10 years old he was apprenticed into the Harper Hall as he was a very good singer and he was good at making musical instruments. At the age of 15 when he went into one of his classes he met another young Apprentice Harper named Akadeanna and the two became very good friends; however their parents worried about their children as the stories of children disappearing had reached Harper Hall, however 3 days after it had reached Harper Hall the two young children both disappeared.


Skylar and Akadeanna found themselves thrust into the life at High Reaches Weyr, but he was glad that they were together and not separated as he worried for Akadeanna, however they didn't have to wait long as the clutch started hatching the two were ushered onto the sands, he stood close to Akadeanna as the clutch hatched; he was very disappointed that neither of them walked off the sands with a Dragon that day, however when the second clutch came around 5 months later, he walked off the sands with an Ichigo Dragonet who was named Belarth and to his joy Akadeanna also walked off with a Shiroi Dragonet named Aleth; he was given many different options for shortening his name and he chose Sk'lar as it was the one he liked the most and Belarth liked it too. The Weyrling Training was rough for both of them, though they passed working together to figure out the problems that they were each facing and when it came to practicing visualizations for the between training, Skylar suggested that they tested each other so neither of them would fail the testing.


They graduated together and he watched when their Dragons were 2 turns old Aleth rose for the first time and he smiled as Belarth rose and gave chase to her and to his delight Belarth caught the Shiroi Dragon. The two had become very close since they met, but they became closer during the Weyrling Training practicing together and helping each other. It didn't surprise him at all that every time Aleth rose after her maiden flight Belarth caught her, the last time Aleth rose and Belarth caught her Skylar asked Akadeanna if they could become bondmates and he was overjoyed when she accepted. Like Akadeanna during that time continued his Harper Training and the same day Akadeanna walked the tables earning her Journeywoman knots Skylar also walked the tables earning his own Journeyman Harper knots.

Not long after they walked the tables Akadeanna asked him to do one thing they had promised they would never do, but he knew how close Akadeanna had been with her younger siblings and he returned to the Harper Hall in the dead of the night and stole Veronica and Servat and returned them to Akadeanna, so they could also become candidates and maybe impress as the young couple had impressed.
