Overall Description:

At six feet and two inches tall, N'rim is a man who is difficult to miss, since he tends to stand a fair bit taller than those around him. His dark skin, legacy of a bloodline originally from Igen, also tends to stand out around his paler comrades. N'rim has a powerful build, broad shouldered and powerfully muscled. The hard work inherent in being a fighting rider, as well as his tendency to work through his feelings by working out, has left him with a nicely defined figure.

he has his share of scars, most minor, but a few which are more noticeable. Down his right shoulder and back, curling around to cover his from his bottom rib to his hip, is the distinctive shiny-smooth mark of a dragon-fire burn, earned in the same accident which killed his wingleader and crippled his former fellow wingsecond. There is a set of thick claw scars on his left thigh from where Keasurath accidentally raked him while they were weyrlings.

N'rim presents as a calm and easy-going man, with a good sense of humour and a bright intelligence that sees more than he lets on. Underneath that however there is a man of intense passion and powerful emotion. He loves deeply and easily, though he tires to guard his heart after the pains he had been through.

A family man, there are few things more important to N'rim than his children and his mate. His little ones are cherished and, unlikely many rider parents, he does his best to see them on a regular basis. He feels that just because they have other people to help care for them does not absolve him for his paternal responsibility to make sure that they are being looked after and growing up right.

Dedicated to his job, N'rim is a firm believer that thread will fall again and he is determined to have his weyr ready when the day comes that the deadly silver strands once more fall upon their world.

Background:
Age 0 - 2
Nahrika and M'van were an odd pairing, one being a wherhandler and the other a rider. Yet their pairing worked well and no-one who saw them together could deny that they were veyr much in love. Nahrimyn was their second child, and first son.

Age 2 - 5
At the age of 2, Nahrimyn became an older brother, with the birth of his sister, Rikavan. For a long time he resents her and the attention that his parents pay to her. With time though he comes to accept her, though he does not yet appricate her presence.

Age 5 - 12
At age 5, Nahrimyn starts his schooling. He takes to being taught like a firelizard to air, and quickly works his way through the harper's teachings. To keep him occupied, the weyr teacher begins assigning him harder and harder lessons, things well beyond the usual teachings for boys his age.

Age 12 - 15
At the age of twelve, Nahrimyn begins standing for dragon impression. He knows his mother is disappointed that he does not wish to be a wherhandler, but the thought of flying with a dragon the way his father does with Dorvath is simply too enticing. M'van had taken each of his children up on his Kin a few times, and from that very first flight, Nahrimyn was hooked.

Age 15 - 17
After three turns of standing, Nahrimyn was beginning to get discouraged. However, shortly before his fifteenth birthday, at the hatching of a Shiroi's clutch, he found his match. A massive Aoi, a navy blue beast easily as large as a small queen. His name was Kaesurath and he named Nahrimyn, N'rim.

Weyrlinghood was not an easy time for them, for Kaesurath seemed to grow so fast that his mind and reflexes could not keep up with his body. He was clumsy, and he caught N'rim more than a few times with his claws, some deep enough to leave scars. Once he reached his full growth however, he became almost graceful, his movements a display of controlled strength and predatory power.

Age 17 - 18
Keasurath's first chases result in losses, as would be expected of a young male. During this time, N'rim meets a young woman by the name of Sakimi, rider of Murasaki Unrith. They flirt, they fight, they become friends, and when Unrith makes her next flight, Keasurath is the one to catch her.

When N'rim is eighteen, and Sakimi nineteen, Sakimi falls pregnant. She gives birth to a daughter, whom they name Nahrimi.

Age 18 - 19
Though they don't make any kind of offical announcement, during this turn Sakimi slowly begins to spend more and more time in N'rim's weyr, until they reach the point where she spends all her nights in N'rim's weyr and only rarely returns to her own.

Age 19 - 20
Shortly before her birthday, N'rim asks Sakimi to officially move in with him. She accepts, and they find that there is very little left to move from her official weyr to his, for most of her things have already migrated to find a place within N'rim's home.

Sakimi falls pregnant for the second time. She gives birth to another daughter, whom they name Nahsaki.

Age 20 - 23
Things are fairly idyllic for N'rim. Keasurath chases Unrith every time she rises, and catches her most times, and chases the queens when they rise. He catches a few Shiroi, siring clutches with them, but never a Midori.

At the age of twenty three, N'rim is promoted to wingsecond when his previous wingleader retires and one of the old wingseconds takes his place.

Age 23 - 24
N'rim settles into being a wingsecond and all seems well. In N'rim's twenty fourth turn, Sakimi gives him another daughter, whom they name Sakimyn.

Age 24 - 26
At twenty six, N'rim's wing gets into a bad accident during training. N'rim's wingleader is lost to between and his fellow wingleader, though still alive, is injured badly enough to warrant his being permanently grounded. N'rim and Keasurath are injured as well, but they heal and when they are allowed back in the air, they are given command of the wing.

Age 26 - 27
Sakimi falls ill, catching a coughing sickness which is going through the weyr's children. Nahrimi catches the illness as well, but she recovers easily. Her mother does not. Sakimi goes through periods of appearing to get better, only to get worse again. In the end, she is in a bed in the infirmary when she stops breathing. The healers do their best to bring her back, but when Unrith goes between, they know there is nothing more they can do.

N'rim grieves for the loss of the women he has spent most of his adult life with, and takes comfort in his children and his dragon.

Age 27 - 29
N'rim becomes withdrawn for a time, watching over his wing with the same diligence that he always has, but avoiding personal interactions. However his friends within his wing are determined not to let him shut himself away completely and slowly they draw him back out.

Age 29 - 30
For his twenty nineth birthday, N'rim's children present him with a kitten. He's not quite sure why they give him a kitten, but assumes that it must have seemed like a good idea at the time. After getting a beast-crafter to confirm the kitten's gender, N'rim names him Max.

During his thirtieth turn, Keasurath catches his first Midori, when Nagith makes her flight to confirm herself and her rider as the senior queens of the weyr, following the former weyrwoman stepping down. This makes N'rim the weyrleader, a position he is both thrilled and terrified to hold.
