Overall Description:
Ashelan would usually be considered to be a fairly handsome fellow. He has a youthful look about him, especially in the face, with people often assuming him to be much younger than he actually is. Ashelan has a trim figure, lithe rather than lean, being a man of muscles but not one of bulk, though he does have a decent set of shoulders on him.

With mid brown hair and soft brown eyes, Ashelan's colouring is fairly typical pernese. His skin is comparatively pale, thanks to fact that most of his waking hours are during the dark of the night.

Overall Description:
One of the first things of note about Ashelan is that he's not very good with people. Unless he's talking about a subject he is confident in, like the care of animals or dragon-kin, Ashelan tends towards a somewhat awkward manner of interaction. He just doesn't seem to know quite what to do with himself when interacting with people outside of a professional capacity.

Ash is someone who only want to help. He's clumsy at socializing and has a tendency to ramble and put his foot in his mouth, but all he ever wants to do is help those who need it. There is nothing he hates more than feeling useless or helpless.

Background:

Age 0 - 5
Ashelan is one of three children born to guardsman Ashyn and his wife, Elani. He has two sisters, both older than he is.

Age 5 - 10
Ashelan's mother bonds with a newly hatched Midori wher. The Midori names herself Elasik. Fortunately Ashelask is of an age where he is capable of doing without constant supervision and old enough to understand that Elaisk is a baby and thus needs more care.

Age 10 - 15
Ashelan's grandfather begins taking Ashelan with him during his rounds. Ashelan grows quite close to the old man, and to his Ichigo wher Elask. As soon as he is old enough, Ashelan apprentices as a beastcrafter, taking a particular interest in the healing of animals in general and in the tending of whers in particular.

Age 15 - 16
It is during Ashelan's fifteenth turn that his grandfather dies. Under the normal way of things Elask would have gone to Ashelan's mother for re-bonding. However her Midori Elaisk is a possessive creature and not inclined to share with another wher and drives Elask away. Elask is brought to Ashelan and they form a strong bond, with Elask taking on the new name of Ashelask.

Age 16 - 18
It takes time for Ashelan and Ashelask to settle into a proper routine, but they find their rhythm eventually. By the time Ashelan reaches his eighteen birthday and his time to walk the tables to journeyman, he and Ashelask have become a fine team.

Age 18 - 22
Making a journeyman trek is not that easy when one has to account for the nighttime needs of a bonded wher, but Ashelan makes the trip from his home in Keroon to a posting in Nerat.

Age 22 - 25
Ashelan and Ashelask are given a new assignment, sent to Sabishi Weyr to work with the beast crafters there and to improve his knowledge of the healing of dragon-kin.

Age 25 - 26
A little of canine pups is looking for an owner. Ashelan takes one, a pretty white and tan female who he names Kora.
