Overall Description:
From a long line of taller than average men and women, Agravana stands several inches above your average Pernese woman. Her build is sturdy and athletic with toned muscles and obvious strength. There are just enough curves for her to still be deemed feminine in nature though they are quite often hidden beneath padded armor, leather and on occasion mail made for her by two of her siblings once she had stopped growing. In general she is solidly built and more than physically capable of doing her job well. It is certainly clear in the way she handles herself that she has excellent control over her body and has phenomenal stamina and agility.
While once her medium to fair skin might have been entirely unblemished with neither freckle nor birth mark, it has been nigh on thirty years since her first scar was acquired. With brothers and a wher to wrestle with and a sister to pester, Agravana had her share of small scars before her tenth turn. After that, when she began her training to be a guard--determined to follow in her mother's footsteps--she acquired more. Though she wears glove for her work, she is quite fond of the scar that transects the fleshy bit of her palm below her thumb and has long since developed a habit of stroking the spot with the fingers of the same hand when she is contemplating or on edge. Since then, having encountered more than her fair share of scuffles both at Crom and Sabishi, she has acquired a vast array of scars; each of them she feels she has more than earned and not a one is she self conscious or not proud of.
Agravana's hair is black and though her mother warned against it, she does keep it long. It is her one truly feminine trait though even that is only an illusion. Always keeping her long hair braided, she and her Smith brother and sister devised a way to affix small, sharp metal spikes to a bit of leather that could be wound through her hair; the metal dulled and blackened so that it would blend in with her hair. Anyone who thought to grab hold of the long plait in an attempt to subdue the wherhandler would quickly regret it.
A family trait on her mother's side--a long line of guard captains and wherhandlers from Crom and the surrounding areas--is her pale eyes. More often than not, they look more green than blue and they are quite mercurial and very expressive when they need to be. Mood and lighting often play a role in their perceived color, varying from a clear, almost glass like pale mossy-green to a medium green-blue, even so vastly different as to be a darker green when the lighting or her mood are particularly poor. Framed by inky-black lashes and set beneath equally as dark brows, her expressions are typically fairly neutral, though when riled she can go from passive to downright terrifying in a matter of seconds.
Preferring clothing that doesn't hinder movement, Agravana's entire wardrobe consists of durable hide and linen garments. When she is on duty she is geared up as would be expected of any guard; hide pants, linen shirt, padded sleeveless shirt, leather armor, metal bracers and gorget as well as gloves and sturdy boots. When not on duty, she is prone to wearing much of the same though tends to avoid the extra padding and swaps out the metal bits for leather counterparts. All of her everyday clothing and guard wear is in dark shades of grey or blue; suitable for blending into the deep shadows of the night. On particularly special occasions such as Gathers and Feasts, she will leave off the hide and leather for linen trousers and a matching tunic that falls nearly to her knees. The trousers are darker green in color and the tunic a shade or two lighter with an interlocking key-type pattern at the collar and hem. Regardless of situation or location, Agravana is always armed whether you can see a weapon on her or not.

Overall Description:
A woman of few words--though when she does speak it is usually prudent and pertinent--Agravana is of the opinion that actions speak far louder than words. As a result she tends to hold those to the same standards of honor and integrity that she holds herself to. As her standards have been high since childhood--set for her by a family rooted in honor and loyalty--it isn't surprising that she tends to find others lacking. Still, despite this, she does give those around her chances to improve themselves in her eyes with offers of sparring practice or company during a certain task where she will more often than not provide critiques. Her manner might be a bit blunt and to the point but it is hardly surprising for a woman who has spent over two decades of her life as both a guard and a wherhandler and before that was raised by a guard and a miner.
However despite her high standards and gruff manner, by her actions alone, it is apparent that Agravana is a being dedicated to the safety of every last person that resides in the weyr. She never shirks her duties, no matter how remedial they may seem for a woman of her experience. Even when not on duty she is alert and at the ready should there be a need for her and she is always on the look out for potential threats. There is, however, a great deal of frustration in her that the fate of the weyr's night guard is determined not by competence or experience but by the mere happenstance of a wher's color. Had Agravask been born a Midori she would be in the position that she rightly deserved and was more than capable of filling competently.
Used to near constant physical activity, when forced into long stretches of inactivity, Agravana can get a bit snarly and snappy. Her already limited desire for verbal communication becomes even more limited. She tries to keep any negative comments to herself but she is the daughter of a miner and so there are times, when her patience is thoroughly tried, that she may have a few choice words for a particularly aggravating individual. Usually it is Agravask who is subjected to any sort of long winded ranting she might partake in. In all, she has a tight rein on her temper and is able to conduct herself professionally and skillfully and with outstanding mental acuity. On the rare occasion that Agravana does find time to relax, it isn't uncommon to find her with Agravask or if she is inclined to it, swimming, running or sparring. That being said, clearly her definition of relaxation is far different from your average person. However, being active keeps her in good spirits so perhaps it is a good thing that she is so inclined to activity.
Though her loyalty is now to Sabishi Weyr and all of its inhabitants, Agravana is still quite close with her family and they come to visit when they can as she does not leave the Weyr much. Her mother, though of like mind often pesters Agravna about getting married or settling down. While the wherhandler wouldn't mind finding a man who could keep up with her, it has never been a priority and as far as children are concerned, her lifestyle simply isn't suited to raising them even if her mother somehow managed. That being said, Agravana scratches the occasional itch with willing dragonriders here or there and has been known to take advantage of the lust-addled losers of flights if she is in the mood, but she has no desire--or time--to actively seek out romance.
Besides, she will always have Agravask to keep her company and while it certainly isn't the same as a romantic or physical relationship with a man, it is good enough for now. Having been with the wher for twenty years, it's no surprise really how attached the two are to one another; nor is it a surprise how attuned they are. They've come to be able to read body language and so what limited communication Agravask is capable of is rarely ever needed for working. Thoughts, gestures and posturing are all that is needed for Agravana to convey her needs to her wher or for her wher to make his intentions or thoughts known to his handler.
