In the darkness following nightfall, a darker shadow paced, impatient, in front of the entrance to the wher dungeons. Taralosk was unhappy with his handler - not that it was truly her fault. Every single wherhandler had reports to give and instructions to receive. Patrol scheduling was very important - especially with the holders starting to get a little to big for their britches. Their purpose may not be hostile, but it was better to be safe than sorry. If it was just a misunderstanding, then hopefully it would be found before it could turn into a bigger issue.
To Taralosk, it was all silly. He would protect every inch of the Weyr, and the silly Holders better look out. If they thought they were better than the Weyr, Taralosk would show them the truth. With teeth and claws, if necessary. Impatience turned into anger as the wher's thoughts churned in the direction of anyone daring to think he would be afraid of them. They should be afraid of him. Taralosk was the best, most strongest, most greatest wher ever!
He also seemed to have bad timing, as he turned his gaze upward just in time to get the first glimpse of a full Belior overhead, briefly blinding the steely wher that had been lurking in the shadows. The low growl in his throat turned into a snarl directed at the moon for daring to blind him. Luckily, this hastened Taralo's stride, but it would be a few moments before she finally reached the Weyrbowl.
