Overall Description: Iryasa is a tiny little thing, but packed away is a big heart and personality. Standing only 5'3" and weighting only 125lb, she doesn't look like much. At least until Essamoryth comes up behind her. Most of the time, Iryasa has her mid back length, blonde hair set in a nice, proper fashion that is befitting the daughter of a Lord Holder, even though she doesn't have to do that anymore. She tends to dress proper, more skirts and dresses, but there are days where she just throws caution to the wind and dresses like a boy and runs around the Weyr in breeches.

Overall Description: Overall, Iryasa is a really sweet young woman. Before Impressing, she was all about learning Weaving and after she Impressed she threw herself into learning about being a better Rider and Weyrwoman. So it's no surprise to say that Iryasa is driven and goal oriented. She would really like to settle down with a man and raise a family, but seeing as she has been told she wouldn't be having anymore children, add in the fact that Essamoryth refuses to have the same male twice, there's a slim chance she'll ever settle down.

Not one to be pushed around, she does have a spitfire personality. She stands up for what she believes in, doesn't allow anyone to push her around, nor does she take being talked down too. Her mother taught her that she shouldn't let a man put her down or stand by a man who has no ambitions.

Background: Iryasa was born the second daughter of the High Reaches Lord Iryiran through a mistress, Elasa. The Hold Lord had just lost his wife in childbirth and in a drunken fit, he raped a young drudge girl. Later, out of shame of what he had done, he moved the young woman into the Hold and set her as the new Hold Lady's lady-in-waiting. The daughter that was born to Elasa was passed off as some other man's child, even though she held a few features that matched the Lord's. Either way, no one questioned the child that was being brought up alongside the Lord and Lady's slightly younger daughter.

Growing up in the Hold Keep was a wonderful experience. Iryasa had lots of friends and she got along wonderfully with the staff. Her best friend, as a child, Jayrian was a constant companion. Yet, as they grew, it was clear to see that the young Jayrian was spoiled and mean and they split paths when it came time to pick a Craft. Iryasa wanted to become a Weaver while Jayrian had no dreams at all, other than becoming a Lady Holder. The last time Iryasa ever saw Jayrian was the day she left for Fort Hold at the tender age of 12.

At Fort Hold, she worked on her Weaver Apprenticeship. She wasn't there long before a dragonrider came and kidnapped a few potential Candidates. When she was Searched, she went willingly. At High Reaches Hold, though her father hadn't been Rider friendly, her mother had been, having been the granddaughter of a Rider. She had heard stories of the wonderful dragons, and seen a few from a distance. So when it came to be her time, she saw no point in crying. No, she went with her head held high and road away on the Kin like it was her dragon. She didn't know which Weyr she was going to, but it became known real quick that she was going to be close to home at High Reaches Weyr.

She was only at High Reaches Weyr for two Turns. During those two Turns, there were only three Clutches on the Sands and not a single one held a dragon for her. On a bright, clear day, Iryasa requested to return to High Reaches Hold to see her ill mother. During the visit, she was taken by a Sabishi Rider who's dragon informed him that she would make an excellent Candidate. The only reason she fought, her mother was ill and she wanted to at least check on her first. After hearing her reasoning, and earning himself a bloody lip, the Sabishi Rider allowed her to go see her mother. That evening, instead of returning to High Reaches Weyr, she went to Sabishi Weyr instead. It didn't take but a sevenday for her to find herself on the Sands at Sabishi and the third egg hatched a breath taking Chimera that rent the very skies with her war cry.

For such a little thing, the Shiroi-Murasaki Chimera was loud, boisterous, and aggressive. She swiped at a few Candidates that got to close to her as she walked through the girl's line and actually bit a young girl on the arm when the girl tried to touch her. When the Chimera got to Iryasa, Iryasa stood in the Hatchlings path, even though a few girls were trying to get her to move. So . . . You think you are worthy of me? the Chimera Hatchling rumbled, wings flared up high, neck arched gracefully. She was a sight to behold, in all her beauty, even as she struck terror into the hearts of those on the Sands. "I don't know if I am . . . But you aren't going to go around biting and swiping at people, just because you are a Queen," Iryasa snapped, holding her glare and her ground before the young Queen. Time seemed to stand still on the Sands. No other Hatchlings moved off to their humans, the ones that had Impressed were all standing still some hiding behind their Weyrlings. Finally, the air was broken by a single string of pearl laughter. The young Chimera Queen was laughter before the young girl that had stood up to her. You, my dear Iryasa, are the perfect Rider for a Chimera Queen. Come, your Essamoryth requires food before I eat one of those cowering little girls behind you, Essamoryth informed her, taking a step toward Iryasa and nuzzling into her chest while wrapping a wing around the young girl's body.

From that moment on, it was easy to see how the young pair worked. Essamoryth was nicknamed The Naga, or Snake Queen, during their Weyrling days, as the Chimera Queen was always switching moods. Iryasa told her that she was suppose to be a Sakura not a Murasaki mix, but Essamoryth just shrugged her off. During their Weyrling days, Haruka of Midori Nagith stepped up as Senior Weyrwoman, so it was only natural that when they passed the Weyrling Lessons, Iryasa and Essamoryth stepped up as one of Haruka's Junior Weyrpair, along with Akadeanna and her Aleth. At two Turns old, Essamoryth Rose for the first time and Iryasa began to realize just how much her Chimera leaned toward the Shiori side. She had a hard time getting Essamoryth to listen to her but in the end, the young dragon blooded on her first Rise and the resulting clutch was a good size one, 20 eggs for her first clutch. The Rise itself was daunting. The Naga lived up to her name; constantly striking out at the males, making them work for her affection. She was doing so many stunts that it ended up looking like one huge ball of males weaving around the one female, as tunnelsnakes mate. In the end, Essamoryth chose a big strong Aoi as her mate. T'zas of Aoi Obath stepped forward as Iryasa's new partner and even through the dragonlust Iryasa was frightened. T'zas was a large man, not known for his gentleness, and this was her first Rise with Essamoryth. However, he was surprisingly gentle with her and they became fast friends though no love bloomed from the mating. The end result of the mating was nine months later she had a little boy she called Tariasa.

After the maiden Rise was over, the eggs were Clutched and Hatched, Iryasa and Essamoryth returned to a semi-state of normal. T'zas and Obeth hung around for a little while, but in the end both couples figured out that the mating was one of power. When Essamoryth Rose a second time, she didn't chose Obeth, but a young Ichigo that Iryasa hadn't even thought was a contender. But when the smoke of dragonlust was cleared, Iryasa was glad for Essamoryth's ways because she found that she had nothing in common with the Ichigorider. However, she did find out, nine months later, that she might be a very fertile woman, when she had a baby girl, Iryril.

With all the problems that the Riders have been having with Holders not wanting to go along with their children becoming Candidates, Iryasa had been working on a way to show the Holders that one day Thread will return and Pern will need the dragons and their Riders. She pours over records and charts whenever she isn't taking care of Weyrwoman duties. When she's not pouring over records and charts and isn't taking care of Weyrwoman duties, she spends time with her children.

When Iryasa turned 26, Essamoryth Rose again. This time, it was another Aoi and the clutch was a little smaller than the first Aoi sired clutch. Again, Iryasa ended up pregnant, this time another girl, she called Kiliasa. After Kiliasa was born, the Healers informed her that she wouldn't be able to have anymore children, as Kiliasa's birth was very difficult for Iryasa and almost cost her her's, the baby's, and Essamoryth's life.

With Nagith's Rise and Clutching, Iryasa is happy for the Senior Weyrwoman. Her Aoi Weyrleader seems like a good man for the position. Since Kiliasa's birth, K'les hasn't really been around, but they still talk, so at the moment, the position as Junior Weyrleader is simply being held by K'les until another male steps forward for the position. Iryasa keeps pushing Essamoryth to pick a male and stick with him, but the Chimera simply brushes her off saying there are so many males she must first make sure she picks the right one. During the Gathering after Nagith's clutch hatched, Iryasa found a booth that was selling firelizard eggs. Against her normal personality, Iryasa bought two of the eggs, thinking she could give them to her two younger children but when it came time for the flits to hatch, she ended up bonding with both the resulting kuroi and chairo. At first Iryasa had thought she would be bogged down and annoyed with the two flits constantly fluttering around her head and two children appearing and disappearing, but she quickly learned that Thros and Vorr were very helpful . . . well, Thros is, Vorr would rather flirt than help her with work and that is just fine with her.
