The darkness of the night might seem oppressive to some, with both the moons well into their waning and drifting clouds which would occasionally blot out what light Timor and Belior did give out. To Ashelan, walking with Ashelask at his side, sharing the night-sight of the massive ichigo wher, the night was his element.
He had worked with animals for most of his life and even a bonding to a night living watch-wher had not changed that. As they walked, Ashelan kept an ear out. One of the herd-beasts had gone missing and a section of railing had been damaged. While it was not a massive loss, it would still be appreciated if the creature could be found and returned.
A rustling sound caught Ashelask's attention, and he brought it to Ashelan's notice, but it proved to be nothing more than a roosting wherry disturbed by their following of tonight's assigned route.
