Here we go! [Nagith's Hatching!!]

As the remaining dragons were examining the Candidates, the Noon egg hatched, revealing a very unusual looking dragon. Her base body was a rich purple with a lighter patch over her eyes, but decorating her entire body were gold triangle shaped spots. She also had a golden toned underbelly and gold on her legs. A beutious creature to be sure. She wound her way among the Candidates with a sense that she knew where she was going, but she was going to make a few friends along the way.

The Ichigo from the Shadow egg finally seemed to realized that his was not among the boys, and started heading towards the girls. As he reached the end of the line though, he suddenly froze, twisting his head around. Maybe his was among the boys after all, and so he turned back around, sniffing along the feet of each person in the line of boys.

It seems the twins had finally made up their minds, and the pair moved in opposite directions. The twin with the dark on top headed to the girls, and the twin with the light on top towards the boys. They had both noticed the same thing, and so of course, had to make it so. The Kin walked right up to Veronica, nuzzling her.

Veronica-Mine. I am Amaterath, and that is my brother Tsukuyoth. We sensed your bond with your brother, and that drew us in. She said softly, looking up at Veronica with rainbow eyes.

The other Kin walked up to Servat. S'vat-mine. My sister and I sensed the bond you and your sister share. I am Tsukuyoth, and my sister is Amaterath. We are twins, just like you. He said, crooning at the boy.

At first things were simple and calm, dragons hatching and coming to wander among the candidates without much in the way of incident. There were a few scratches, a couple who would come out of this day with bruising, but all was well. Then one hatchling knocked into another egg, and all hell broke loose.

Zuri had been standing close to the front and she had to cover her nose and mouth with one hand to try and block out the stench of the malformed thing which had slipped from that ill fated egg. She focused on breathing, fighting against the scent of death and decay and the blood spilled by the panicking hatchlings as they ran into and over the candidates in their hasty escape from their fears.

Essi was hurt, knocked over by the chairo, but before Zuri could get the attention of a healer, the pretty Aoi had come their way, and stopped at her feet. It was clear that the dragon had chosen her friend and there was nothing Zuri could do about getting her healer help now. The pretty Aoi needed to be fed first. Fortunately there seemed to be a healer waiting by the food buckets, watching out for those of the newly impressed who were also among the injured.

She watched one boy be pulled away on a stretcher, the blood on his back staining his robes and alarming shade of red. Looking around, she saw many more injured amongst her fellows. It seemed that she was one of only a few to have emerged completely unscathed.

There were still many hatchlings on the sands, and more coming as a egg hatched to produce an pretty purple and gold creature. Still, Zuri's eyes drifted time and again to the green tones midori egg and the large egg which had been pulled aside with it. The third of those eggs had already hatched, producing the Aoi which had chosen Itessi, but there were still those two left, and she hoped that they would hatch soon.

Until now, Z'tan had been staying in the triage area. The space was small, but it was as much his domain as the infirmary was. He watched his journeymen as they darted in among the candidates, giving quick fixes to the small wounds and pulled the more injured to the side where they could be guided back to proper care. One boy had needed a stretcher, his back wounded enough to make standing a difficult task. Though part of Z'tan was tempted to take on that task himself, he knew the journeywoman who had taken on the care of the boy to be perfectly suitable for the task and he would not undermine the authority of his own without good reason and that was not reason enough.

Looking out over the sands, he spotted one child who had not yet been tended too. He saw none of his journeymen near them, and most of those with the rank were busy with the already wounded. With a huff, he stalked across the sands, moving with ease upon the shifting surface, for he had been doing this for most of his life.

"For Faranth's sake boy" He growled at the lad. "Do none of you lot have any brains in your head? You can not possibly have missed all that blood that you're loosing." Grabbing the boy by his good arm, Z'tan began to pull the child out of line and to the triage, Ink crooning at Kelyra from his shoulder. "I swear, every turn we get less and less of you lot with any sense of self-preservation. And don't you start!" He glared up at where Elizabeth was watching the events. The Gin snorted and sent amusement back to him. I wasn't going to say a word The Gin replied.

Orion frowned as another egg hatched but he wasn't frowning because of that...he was frowning because the trembling beside him was becoming more pronounced. Looking down at Jenesys he decided to make the decision for the boy and squatted down to pick him up.

"Wh...what are you...?" he asked, though his voice was too soft to carry further then Orion's ears.

"Taking you to get looked at. What would happen if you died waiting for your dragon? The poor thing would Between, now hold still," he said as Jenesys began to squirm as he walked further from the egg. Granted where he would get looked at was right on the Sands but in Jenesys's mind he was being taken further and further away from a chance to truly have a reason to continue. Ophelia was one thing but...he couldn't...the tears that appeared only cemented the fear he felt as Orion knelt down next to one of the cots he lay the boy on.

"He got hit by the Chairo earlier," he explained to the Healer before turning his attention t Jenesys. "Don't worry. I'll stay here with you, ok?"

Jenesys only looked up at the boy and nodded mutely. He was right...he knew it...that was the rational part of his mind talking but...what if he did miss his chance?

Looking up from feeding Taviorth, Rhia grinned widely as zhe spotted Itessi headed towards them, an Aoi walking at her side. Though it was a touch confusing, because Rhia was sure that Aoi were supposed to impress only to men.. They'd had some quite frank discussions about gender and sex over the course of their friendship and Rhia was sure that Essi would have told zher if she was actually a he, or something else altogether like Rhia zherself was.

Your friend has done well. Kazith is a beautiful queen Taviorth said, looking away from his food in order to admire the Aoi. "Oh" Rhai said softly. That explained that. The dragoness might have a hide of Aoi blue, but was a beautiful queen rather than a handsome king.

"Shall we go and say hello?" Rhiasyn couldn't conceal zher worry from zher dragon. There was red staining Itessi's white robe, sign that she had been injured by one of the many young dragons. Yes, that sounds good Taviorth replied.

The Kuroi-Midori sat himself right beside the two of them, curling his tail neatly over his feet and spreading his wings a little to make himself look more majestic. Not that it really helped, seeing as he was a just hatched dragonling with all the odd body shape that entailed.

Tag: Seryn and using NPC Healer

Jenesys had been through worse pain...it was the blood loss that was really getting to him. Since he hadn't known what was happening to him a few months ago when he gave birth he hadn't had any assistance, nothing to numb the pain only lay on his bed sobbing before a Healer had been called to try and find out what was long. Three candlemarks later and a lot of pain and sobs and Neena had been born. He tried to push the emotional pain of that night away in favor of remembering the physical and trying to convince himself he was all right...he was just in pain.

The Healer that came over and looked at him immediately glaring and Jenesys immediately recognized him as the Healer who'd helped him recover when he'd first arrived.

"Just because you're off my watch list does NOT mean you can get mauled by a dragon, you're still healing!" he snapped as he ripped the stomach of Jenesys's robes away and winced at the gashes only to begin treating him with numbweed and other salves to stop bleeding and take away the physical pain Jenesys was feeling. It was then he heard Seryn and looked up at her.

"Don't worry, I've been through worse..." he said softly, trying to be reassuring.

"Through worse?! Worse he says, just lay there and let me work, this isn't labor but we might as well be cutting a whelp from you," the Healer muttered before noticing Seryn and snatching her by the arm to have her sit. "Sit, stay!" he snapped before looking up at Orion, not intimidated at all.

"I just have a bruise on my leg," he reassured the Healer who only snorted and went back to tending both Jenesys and Seryn. Orion turned to Seryn and nodded quietly. "You're welcome, he looked as if he'd faint and I couldn't let that happen. If I'd known you were so injured I would have come for you as well," he said. "I know this one is Jenesys, but I don't believe I know you, I am Orion."

Tag: Rhia and Tavi

The sight of Rhia and her lovely new companion made Essi tear up a bit and the shock of having the little man in her thoughts was crazy and cute all at once. A laugh escaped her pale lips as he spread his wings to preen for her Kazith. "I would be very happy of the company and help. I admit this wound is making me so very sleepy." she said and swayed again.

"Rhia I am so happy for you. We get to be dragon riders together. Remember how we used to plot how we would escape marriage...well we sure did that! We are dragon riders and people are going to learn that Lady Holders are tough as between." she giggled a bit and winced as the healer forced her to sit on a stool he had brought. Hearing that she had a very deep wound in need of stitching she waved her hand flippantly and limply.

"It can be done after my dragon is sated or you can do it there." she said as if she was little concerned with how it would feel. Kazith on the other and and her new body guard Climber were having none of it.

"Taviorth darling would you be so kind as to allow me to sit next to my rider and talk a little bit of logic into her poor muddled brain? There is a nice strong dear! You will be a handsome dragon someday dear you may fold your wings comfortably around me I am positive of your glory." She said formally and amused. Sitting next to her rider she looked up imploringly. "Itessi mine I worry you are too hurt and I will lose you so you will allow this man to take care of you or I shall not eat another bite, despite the fact that I am still ever so hungry."

"Kazith you can eat he can heal me but please eat. Rhia it won't be too much work for you to feed both little ones? We should bunk together in the weyrling barracks so we can help each other." she said as she felt numb weed applied to her damaged back before she knew they were sewing her up. "It's a good thing my dress for hatching celebrations is low now I can show of my first battle scar."
